Vice President, Business Development & Strategy Position in a Telecom Company

They are a leader in providing end to end engineering solutions and services with special focus on Planning, Design, Optimization, Outsourcing, Implementation, Operations and Maintenance, Support and Training. To deepen the depth of play in the local market, they have restructured to reposition for competitiveness, and have the following position to fill:More...Vice President, Business Development & Strategy(RF-VPBDS). Roles/Responsibilities • Plan and develop strategic objectives for business development; • Develop and manage annual business plans identifying key activities, priorities and risks; • Identify and pursue new business opportunities; • Develop and judiciously guide the implementation of marketing plan and strategies; • Drive decision-making that creates medium- and long-term improvement; • Develop suitable metrics in ensuring that designed strategies are delivering the desired outcomes; • Work closely with the CEO to communicate and implement the company’s strategy internally and externally so that all employees, partners, suppliers, and contractors understand the companywide strategic plan and how it carries out the company’s overall goals; • Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills to influence thinking or gain acceptance of existing and potential clients; • Pass down to the functional and business groups their boundaries for operational and investment planning • Track organisational progress in alignment with the overall corporate objective, recognize situations and determine appropriate responses • Develop, plan and implement various cost effective initiatives in enforcing the “Cost Effective and improved value” proposition of the company to its clients • Must be able to design a roadmap based on the understanding of what the client wants in the future and his current status, a roadmap to the client goals is drawn to facilitate the achievements of those goals. • Conduct periodic detailed analysis on the various market segments and the changes which may be occurring from one period to another with a view to ensuring the company is properly equipped to play in its chosen market segment; • Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Competency Requirements • Must have professional skills and competence in the areas of telecoms engineering; • Good relationship management skills; • Good marketing and Business communication skills; • Good interpersonal skills; • Strong negotiation skills. • Good presentation skills; • Must be abreast with new developments like new telecoms benefits, reach and deployment • Good communication, planning, time-management and follow-through skills • Good knowledge of telecoms industry; Qualification and Experience • A good Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline from a reputable University; • Professional qualification and/or membership of a professional engineering body; • Industry experience of no less than 7 years; • Senior Management responsibility of no less than 3 years • An MBA will be an added advantage.
